In Russia, near the city of Saratov, there was a powerful explosion at an underground gas storage facility. Local Telegram channels reported this on Saturday, June 15.
It is indicated that the gas storage facility is located in Tatishchevsky district. There was now a pillar of fire rising into the sky, visible several kilometers away.
“According to preliminary information, due to abnormal heat, depressurization occurred, which resulted in a fire. Now emergency services with specialists have blocked the pipeline,” said Roman Busargin, governor of the Saratov region .
There are no reports of possible casualties or injuries.
Earlier in Russia, a fire broke out in the Urengoy gas field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug), the largest in the country.
Also in Yakutia, there was a gas leak followed by an ignition of the gas-air mixture and a well explosion. Nine people were injured then.
