Lifeguards tell you where you can swim. Reservoirs in many places are still polluted by explosive objects.
In Ukraine, local authorities have identified 240 water recreation sites, of which 194 are equipped with beaches. Oleksandr Khorunzhiy, press officer of the State Emergency Service, spoke about it at a briefing at the Media Center Ukraine.
The areas occupied or the areas where fighting took place or was continuing did not start during the swim. We are talking about the Kiev region, in particular, the city of Kyiv, Donetsk region, Chernihiv region, Mykolaiv region, Odessa region and Sumy region.
“These are the regions where we stubbornly don’t recommend going on vacation by the sea or water at all. They can be contaminated by a large amount of explosive objects,” Khorunzhiy said.
Where the swimming season is open, people should know one rule – you have to swim in areas determined by the military administrations and local authorities.
“These areas are equipped with rescue posts, which have been cleared. Also, they should have no fast flow and have a gentle slope in the water,” the press official said.
According to Khorunzhy, rescuers have already removed about 33 hectares of water from explosive objects, the largest number of which is in the Kyiv region.
Currently, work is carried out in the Sumy, Mykolaiv and Zaporozhye regions.
Recall that earlier in Kyiv, all beaches and recreation areas near the water were inspected by specialists for the absence of explosive objects.
