In Switzerland, at the Bürgenstock resort, today, June 15, the first Peace Summit officially starts in the afternoon.

It will be attended by 100 delegations – 92 countries and eight international organizations, the Ukrinform agency reports.
Today, June 14, in the evening, President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky arrived here.
The peace summit will allow the global majority to take concrete steps in areas that are important to everyone in the world: nuclear and food security, the return of prisoners of war and all deportees, including deported Ukrainian children, Zelensky emphasized on his page on the social network X.
The final list of participants became known only last night – some undecided countries made a decision at the last moment. Yes, there were doubts about the presence of: representatives of Brazil, South Africa, Indonesia, the UAE, who ultimately decided to send their representatives at the envoy level;
India and Turkey, which will be represented at the level of foreign ministers.
Of the 92 countries in total that will attend the summit:
- 57 will be represented by heads of state and government;
- 29 – ministers of foreign affairs;
- six are messengers.
The conference will allow for the first time to discuss at the highest level how and when Russia can be involved in this process. For Switzerland, developing a long-term solution requires both sides, noted the hosts of the conference before it began. “By organizing this conference, Switzerland is taking the first step, which should begin the process of a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. In this way, Switzerland continues its long tradition of promoting dialogue.
The security of summit participants is ensured by about 4 thousand police officers.
