This Alliance headquarters in Finland is tasked with managing ground military operations in northern Europe and Scandinavia.

The headquarters of NATO ground forces will be based in Finland. This is what Finnish Defense Minister Antti Hyakkänen said, Reuters reports.

According to him, all member countries of the Alliance have given their political consent to Finland’s main goals for its integration into NATO.

“The ground forces of NATO will be headquartered in Finland and the ground forces will be present in Finland,” Häkkänen said.

He added that the Alliance headquarters in Finland will have the role of leading military operations on the ground in northern Europe and Scandinavia.

The Defense Minister noted that in the new NATO command structure, all Northern European countries will report to the Allied Allied Command in Norfolk, America.

“These decisions strengthen the security of Finland and at the same time the security of Northern Europe, and they have significant benefits for the security of the entire Alliance,” Häkkänen said.

It was previously reported that NATO plans to build the headquarters of the Alliance’s ground forces in Finland.

Let’s remember that the large military exercises of the NATO countries called Nordic Response 24 took place in the north of Finland, Sweden and Norway.
