A controversial government bill on “differentiated autonomy” is being considered in the Italian parliament. The deputies quarreled.
In connection with a fight in the Italian legislature, the office of the speaker of the lower house of parliament suspended 11 deputies from meetings. ANSA reported this.
It was noted that on June 12, the Italian parliament considered a controversial government bill on “differentiated autonomy” that would allow regions to claim more powers to collect and spend tax revenues on their own. region. Critics of the document believe that the bill will exacerbate the gap between the northern and southern regions of Italy.
During the discussion of this document, the MP from the Five Star Movement (M5S) Leonardo Donno tried to present the Italian flag to the Minister of Regional Affairs and Autonomy Roberto Calderoli, which provoked some MPs from the ruling coalition to run up to the minister and defend him.
The deputy was caught on video trying to throw a punch. Donno himself fell to the floor and had to be carried out of the hall in a wheelchair.
Donno later said after a medical examination that he was fine, accusing MP Igor Iezzi of punching him in the face.
Because of the fight, 11 MPs were suspended from two to 15 parliamentary sessions.
Iezzi was suspended for 15 meetings and Donno was suspended for four. Three more representatives from the Brothers of Italy party, one representative from the League party and one representative from the Democratic Party were suspended for seven meetings.
We remind you that in Georgia, representatives fought the law “against foreign agents.” The leader of the opposition Citizens party slapped a representative of the ruling Georgian Dream in the face; the battle continued on the sidelines.
