The SBU detained the agent in July 2023. He then tried unsuccessfully to hand over the intelligence report to the FSB.
A Russian FSB agent who spied on the Defense Forces in the Sumy region received a prison term. The SBU reported this on June 14.
It was noted that the defendant tried to identify and transfer to the aggressor the positions of the headquarters of the Ukrainian troops in the border areas. He also checks the locations of warehouses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, including those with weapons and ammunition.
In order to get intelligence information, the woman went around the area, ostensibly on private matters, but in reality she was secretly recording the bases of the Ukrainian defenders. At these coordinates, the Russian Federation planned to carry out a series of enemy attacks on the targets of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The SBU detained the agent in July 2023. He then tried unsuccessfully to hand over the intelligence report to the FSB. During the arrest, the defendant’s mobile phone, which he used to communicate with the Russian intelligence service, was confiscated.
The court found the woman guilty of treason committed under martial law and sentenced her to 15 years in prison.
We remind you that the counterintelligence of the Security Service detained the head of one of the departments of the Khmelnitsky City Council, who worked for the FSB of Russia.
Earlier, the Security Service detained a GRU agent in the Donetsk region who was helping the Russians break the defense line of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Pokrovsky.
