NATO plans to create a permanent structure to organize arms supplies to Ukraine to deal with the enemy.
The United States should provide half of the funds for NATO’s arms procurement fund for Ukraine. The amount of this fund should be $40 billion per year. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg announced this in a press conference on Thursday, June 13.
He noted that on Friday, June 14, NATO must approve a clear plan for the supply of weapons to Ukraine.
“Its amount will be $40 billion per year, contributions to this fund should be proportional to GDP. The US GDP is half of the total GDP of NATO countries, so the US will provide half of this fund, and the rest will be provided by. European countries and Canada,” said Stoltenberg.
Earlier, Biden, during negotiations with Vladimir Zelensky in Paris, announced a new aid package to Ukraine in the amount of $225 million. He also apologized that the United States had delayed the transfer of military aid for several months.
