Slovenia joined the Czech initiative for the joint procurement of large-caliber ammunition outside the European Union for Ukraine.
As part of the defense assistance, Slovenia transferred 26 armored combat vehicles (AFVs), three infantry fighting vehicles (IFVs) and a new batch of drones to Ukraine. 24UR reported this on Thursday, June 13.
“During the suspension of providing support packages to Ukraine from the United States due to the discussion of bills in the Senate and against the backdrop of a shell famine in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Slovenia did not hesitate,” the publication wrote.
As 24UR points out, during this period, the country sent 26 armored fighting vehicles, 3 infantry fighting vehicles, as well as a new batch of UAVs to Ukraine.
“According to our information, Slovenian M-55S tanks, armored amphibious vehicle BVP M80A, Humvee and Yugoslav-made Zastava M55 anti-aircraft guns were also equipped with “new” armored vehicles and drones were also transferred to Kyiv,” the publication. said.
The Ukrainian side has already received 35 drones, as well as a new batch of drones. In addition, 20 BOV (armored fighting vehicles) of 12.7 mm caliber, 6 BOV 3×20 mm and an additional 3 infantry fighting vehicles were sent from Slovakia.
“Due to its size, Slovenia provided Ukraine with enormous military, humanitarian and monetary aid. In addition to heavy weapons, it also provided military aid in the form of machine guns, ammunition and helmets,” 24UR wrote.
