They were hospitalized with serious injuries, all three fell into a coma. Russian media subsequently reported that one of the wounded, 46-year-old cameraman Valery Kozhin, had died.
Kozhin previously covered military conflicts in which the Russian army participated, in particular in Syria and the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine even before the start of the full-scale Russian invasion, and received several awards from the Russian authorities, in particular a medal from the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2018.
