This was announced by Deputy Head of the Polish Ministry of Defense Cezary Tomczyk.
Poland did not agree to the transfer of the Polish battery. Polish Patriots defend Polish skies and that will not change,” Tomczyk said.
In addition, the head of the National Security Bureau, Jacek Severa, said that over the past two years their airspace was violated three times, which cost the lives of two citizens.
Germany will also not be able to transfer more Patriot installations to Ukraine.
We are transferring the third Patriot system to Ukraine. Thus, Germany provides a total of three systems for Ukraine. […]. This is a quarter of our reserves of such systems; it is no longer possible to transfer more. Other [союзники]maybe they can give you one at a time [системі]– said German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
Earlier, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that Germany would transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces the third Patriot system and 100 missiles for it, as well as IRIS-T and Gepard installations.
Earlier on June 12, American media wrote that US President Joe Biden approved the transfer of the second American Patriot anti-aircraft missile system to Ukraine. This was reported by The New York Times with reference to unnamed senior officials of the American administration and military.
Biden’s decision came last week after a series of high-level meetings and internal debates on how to meet Ukraine’s urgent needs for enhanced air defense without jeopardizing U.S. combat readiness, the report said.
The second Patriot system will arrive from Poland, where it protected rotational forces of U.S. troops returning to the United States, officials said.
