Canada will continue to test these missiles and, based on the test results, will send more of them to Ukraine.
Canada plans to supply Ukraine with 2.3 thousand aircraft missiles that were previously in service with the country’s Air Force. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Defense Bill Blair, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“Canada will provide Ukraine with 2,300 Canadian CRV7 aircraft missiles that have been used by the Royal Canadian Air Force in recent months, we have tested these missiles to ensure their effectiveness,” he said before a meeting of ministers of NATO defense. .
The head of the Canadian Ministry of Defense did not specify how long the deliveries would take. Blair added that Canada will continue to test these missiles and, based on the test results, will send more of them to Ukraine.
The CRV7 is a Canadian 70 mm aircraft unguided missile with a folding tail. It was a by-product of a project to develop high-speed solid-propellant rockets undertaken in the late 1950s by the Canadian Defense Research and Development Establishment (CADRE), as part of the missile defense program.
The Canadian Department of Defense has 83,303 of these missiles.
We remind you that Canada is preparing to send four armored combat vehicles of its own production to Ukraine for medical evacuation. In total, the Ukrainian Armed Forces should receive 50 such vehicles.
It was also reported that Canada, as part of new military aid, will transfer a batch of night vision devices to Ukraine.
