The main topics for Ukraine at the G7 summit are the formation of a coalition of fighters, the development of air defense and the approval of a format for the use of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine, the president said.
President Vladimir Zelensky arrived at the G7 summit in Italy and announced important decisions on the defense and maintenance of Ukraine’s economy. He announced this on Telegram on Thursday, June 13.
“The main topics for us are the formation of a coalition of fighters, acceleration of pilot training, accelerated delivery of aircraft of the Ukrainian air defense system based on the most powerful Western systems and development of long-term capabilities format for the use of Russian assets in favor of Ukraine, especially for the development of our defense industry, joint production weapons,” he wrote.
The leader of Ukraine will participate in the G7 meeting and will hold a series of bilateral meetings: with the hostess of the summit, the head of the Council of Ministers of Italy Giorgia Meloni, the Prime Ministers of Canada and Great Britain Justin Trudeau and Rishi Sunak, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel and the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva.
“During meetings with US President Joseph Biden and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, we will sign bilateral security agreements.
He recalled that a year ago at the NATO summit in Vilnius, the G7 adopted a Declaration of Support for Ukraine.
“Today, within the framework of this Declaration, we are signing the last two security agreements with the members of the G7, our soldiers see that the G7 is with Ukraine forever our victory,” concluded the head of state.
Earlier, the media reported that the G7 leaders at the summit will agree on a $50 billion loan for Ukraine using the proceeds from Russia’s fixed assets.
