More than 110 business agreements have been signed and a Business Advisory Council has been established to help engage the private sector in Ukraine’s recovery and recovery.
The Ukraine Recovery Conference in Berlin (URC2024) expanded the number of dimensions of such recovery to four – business, European integration, communities and human capital. This was announced by the Secretary of State of the German Foreign Ministry Thomas Bagger at the closing ceremony of the conference, reports Interfax-Ukraine.
“16 billion euros is the estimated cost of the projects launched at the conference,” he said.
According to the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yulia Sviridenko, in the near future the Ministry of Economy will summarize the results and clarify the approximate distribution of this amount by area.
The minister noted that there were three thousand participants in the event, more than 110 business agreements were signed, and a Business Advisory Council was created to help involve the private sector in the restoration of Ukraine.
Sviridenko emphasized that one of the main topics and priorities for the Ukrainian government is the energy issue, because as a result of the latest Russian shelling, Ukraine lost 50% of its energy capacity.
“Ukraine has signed several agreements aimed at promoting renewable energy sources, for the supply of gas turbines and gas piston units, I think this is one of the most important things that this conference is doing results in the field of energy,” the minister said.
He added that the “Skills Alliance for Ukraine” was also formed for EUR700 million in conditions of structural unemployment and 6.5 million Ukrainians abroad.
Remind us that the Ministry of Economy presented 95 investment projects worth about $27 billion at the conference on the restoration of Ukraine in Berlin.
It was previously reported that the European Investment Bank (EIB) is launching a loan program with a total budget of more than 1 billion euros for small and medium-sized Ukrainian businesses.
