By the end of May 2024, 8 million 265 thousand tons of cargo were processed by sea ports of Ukraine, which is almost twice the same number as in 2023.
In May, cargo movement through the Ukrainian corridor reached 6.7 million tons, of which 4.5 million tons were products of Ukrainian farmers.
The leaders in cargo turnover are grain and ore cargo – 5.3 million tons and 1.5 million tons, respectively. Against 3.5 million tons of grain and 241 thousand tons of ore in 2023.
Ukrainian ports as a whole handled almost 46 million tons since the beginning of 2024, compared to 26.6 million tons in 2023.
We remind you that in Ukraine, car traffic with grain cargo has been re-directed from the western borders in the direction of the sea ports of Greater Odessa. At the same time, the volume of grain cargo transfers across borders with all neighboring countries without exception – Hungary, Slovakia, Poland, Romania – has decreased.
As reported, the indicators of the Ukrainian sea corridor exceeded the results of the grain agreement, which was terminated after the demarche of Russia.
