The ban list includes shoe manufacturer Dongguan Oasis Shoes, electrolytic aluminum manufacturer Xinjiang Shenhuo Coal and Electricity, and food manufacturer Rizhao Meijia Group.
The United States has added three more Chinese companies to the list of banned products. We are talking about companies suspected of being involved in the forced labor of Uyghurs in China. Reuters reported this in connection with the US Department of Homeland Security (MNS).
The ban list includes shoe manufacturer Dongguan Oasis Shoes, electrolytic aluminum manufacturer Xinjiang Shenhuo Coal and Electricity, and food manufacturer Rizhao Meijia Group.
“Through these actions, DHS is increasing its focus on seafood, aluminum and footwear—industries that play an important role in Xinjiang’s economy—and ensuring that goods produced using forced labor are kept out of the US market,” the department said in a statement.
In the past, the United States has added dozens of companies to this list. US officials believe that Chinese authorities have set up labor camps for Uyghurs and other ethnic minority groups in the western region of Xinjiang, but the Chinese government denies any abuses.
In the past, the United States has declared China’s actions against the Uyghurs in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region to be genocide and crimes against humanity.
