President Volodymyr Zelensky from the Verkhovna Rada expects the adoption of European integration laws necessary to fulfill the conditions for the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. He said this in a video message published on Friday, June 24.
“Despite the war, we continue to enforce EU law, standards and policies in all spheres of life. The government will develop an appropriate roadmap. Knowing that the next steps – we have recommendations from the European Commission.We look forward to the approval from the Verkhovna Rada of European integration laws as a priority.From all of you – high civic consciousness, devotion to our values and the realization that no one will build a European Ukraine for us, except us , “aniya.
Zelensky noted that “Ukraine aims not to join, but to return to the European family.”
“Democracy and democracy existed here more than a thousand years ago, during the time of Kievan Rus, when people were involved in resolving important issues. Human rights, human life is worth a thousand years. the past. Kievan Rus was probably the only medieval state. where there was no mortal execution. ” he mentioned.

On the eve of the European Council granted Ukraine the status of a candidate for entry into the European Union. This decision was fully supported by all EU leaders during the summit in Brussels.
Earlier, the European Parliament adopted a resolution supporting granting Ukraine and Moldova the status of candidates for joining the European Union.
