A preventive measure was chosen for him – arrest with the right to post more than nine hundred thousand hryvnia bail.
This was reported by ZAXID.NET. The text of the resolution was published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.
The major, as stated in the case, repeatedly used physical violence against his subordinates. One of the recorded incidents occurred in the fall of 2023 in the barracks of a military town where military personnel of the National Academy of Land Forces named after Hetman Petro Sagaidachny live.
The husband hit the soldier in the chest with the bolt handle of an AK-74 assault rifle because he had left the weapon in the care of another soldier on the training course.
Another incident occurred on the territory of the academy. Then the major kicked the soldier in the chest, after which he struck him on the back of the head three times with his palm. An incident was also recorded in the office premises on the territory of the military academy – a serviceman beat a subordinate with a belt. In addition, there were other cases of physical and mental violence considered in court.
On June 6, 2024, DBI investigators detained the major in Kramatorsk. At the time of his arrest, the man was serving in a military unit as deputy commander of a mechanized company providing the defense of Ukraine.
The serviceman is suspected of exceeding power or official authority and using violence against subordinates under martial law (Part 5 of Article 426-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of eight to twelve years.
The major was chosen a preventive measure – detention for a period of 60 days with the right to post a bail of 908 thousand UAH.
