Together with his team, he carried out 145 missile launches and destroyed 139 targets. These are the Kh-101, Kh-55, Kh-555 and Caliber cruise missiles and attack unmanned aerial vehicles.
Kirill spent his most difficult and productive battle in the area of responsibility of the West Air Command in the summer of 2023.
It was a massive Russian missile and air strike,” says the rocket scientist. – First, the enemy hit the cover object with twelve sea-based Caliber cruise missiles. We shot down 9 missiles, another was destroyed by a mobile fire group. Immediately after this, the Russians struck with twelve Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs. These drones entered the site from different directions. We destroyed 10 UAVs. There are two more mobile fire groups. Along with the drones, 4 more “Calibers” came in. We also destroyed all 4 missiles. The Russians then fired cruise missiles from their strategic bombers. We managed to reload our launchers and destroyed another 12 air-launched cruise missiles. Only after this did our anti-aircraft battle end. Was it dangerous for us? Yes. But during combat work you don’t pay attention to this. You are guided by cold, unemotional considerations, focusing only on completing the task at hand. Only when everything is over, when the level of adrenaline in the blood decreases, do you begin to realize what threats and risks just existed. Next comes incredible exhaustion, physical and emotional exhaustion.
For personal courage and heroism shown in defending the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, selfless service to the Ukrainian people, the President of Ukraine awarded Kirill Peretyatko the title of Hero of Ukraine with the Order of the Golden Star.
We never know where we will be tomorrow and when the anti-aircraft battle will begin,” the officer says. “We spend weeks and months in the fields. We protect important facilities from air strikes in all regions of our country. We often change positions and perform steep marches for hundreds of kilometers. But we have enough strength, will, desire and ability to fight to defeat and expel the invaders from our heaven and earth.
Peretyatko says he is striving to achieve another important personal goal on the battlefield.
Must destroy the occupiers’ plane. “My unit deserves to see the helmet of the downed Russian killer pilot on the ground,” says the commander. “These vultures will be punished for all their crimes.”
