The head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, told members of the European People’s Party (EPP), which won the largest number of seats in the European Parliament, that the political force would be an “anchor of stability” and protect the EU from “offending populists.” His words on Sunday, June 9, were quoted by Politico.
