In particular, Finland transfers not only old defensive materials stored in warehouses to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Also, the Ukrainian military receives the latest innovations from the Finnish defense industry, some of which are even still at the development stage. This was stated by the head of the military economics department of the Finnish Defense Forces, Lieutenant General Mikko Heiskanen, Yle reports.
Feedback on the use of Finnish products was positive, the official noted.
Heiskanen said that production reserves made by the defense forces for Finnish companies could be activated for use in support of Ukraine. All that is needed for this is political will and additional funding.
The military believes that the experience of using the latest developments in Ukraine will be useful for the development of the latest Finnish military equipment.
Let us remind you that the Finnish government is actively helping Ukraine resist Russian aggression. Since the start of the full-scale invasion, Finland has sent 22 defense aid packages to Ukraine, the last one in February 2024. In total, the cost of defensive materials supplied by Finland to Ukraine during the war exceeded 1.8 billion euros.
