The system provides detection of air targets at a distance of up to 250 km and at an altitude of up to 24 km.
The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has ordered a second ControlMaster 200 (CM200) radar system from the French Thales Group for air defense needs. The company’s press service reported this yesterday.
“The second air defense system will strengthen the defense of the territory of Ukraine by early detection of existing threats,” the statement said.
The CM200 includes the Ground Master 200 air surveillance radar, radio communications system and ControlView air defense control center.
The Ground Master 200 provides detection of helicopters, fixed-wing aircraft, drones, winged aircraft, surface targets and even enemy artillery.
The radar provides detection of air targets at a distance of up to 250 km and at an altitude of up to 24 km.
The Ground Master 200 can operate as an independent air surveillance radar or act as part of the radar of an air defense system.
In turn, ControlView provides air traffic management with the ability to monitor and coordinate input signals from a number of sensors.
Ukraine ordered the first such air defense system in 2023 and has already proven itself on the battlefield.
The CM200 systems are integrated into the SAMP/T anti-aircraft missile system, which is also in service in Ukraine.
Earlier it became known that Ukraine will receive TRML-4D radar for IRIS-T complexes. These radars provide rapid detection and tracking of approximately 1,500 targets within a radius of up to 250 kilometers.
