On Saturday, June 8, the UkrainePride organization organized the “Rave Pride” party, where artists, as well as representatives of organizations and formations “advocating safe spaces and opportunities for the LGBTIQ community,” were scheduled to perform. However, workers from the Territorial Center for Recruitment and Social Support of the Podolsk District of the capital arrived at the event. This was reported by the KyivPride organization.
The organizers claim that the military checked the documents of everyone present and tried to take those men who did not have the necessary documents with them to undergo the VLK. The party was not canceled at KyivPride, but the arrival of the TCC at the event is considered to put pressure on the pride movement in Ukraine.
We, representatives and representatives of the Ukrainian pride movement, are fully aware of the importance of mobilization and taking the necessary measures to ensure it. At the same time, we have information that among all the mass cultural and educational events that are held today in Kyiv, representatives of the TCC chose only an LGBTQ+ event for inspection. “We regard such actions as targeted pressure on the pride movement in Ukraine,” the statement says.
Let us remind you that on June 16 a march in support of the rights of the LGBT community “KievPride” is planned in Kyiv. The organizers said that it will take place in the metro. However, the Kyiv City State Administration noted that the holding of the Equality March in the metro was not approved. The organizers ask you to choose a different location, since train traffic and stations will operate as usual.
