Ukrzaliznytsia changes the schedule of commuter electric trains to reduce electricity consumption. This was reported on Friday, June 7, by the carrier’s press service.
It is indicated that some electric trains will temporarily not run, and some will change the frequency of service or their route will be limited.
“In order for the country to survive and prevent a blackout, railway workers are temporarily making changes to the schedule of commuter electric trains: during June, the schedules of 74 commuter electric trains across Ukraine will be temporarily adjusted not to run , and some will change frequency or their route will be limited If the situation improves, the movement of suburban electric trains will continue,” said the message.
It is noted that the changes will not affect critical electric trains. That is, those who provide transportation for the population to work and return.

In the current situation in the energy system of the country after the terrorist attack of the enemy, the railway workers are trying to help the electrical engineers to restore the generation of electricity,” they explained their actions.
The first schedule changes took place on June 7 in some directions of the Lviv and Pridneprovskaya railways. Later, corresponding changes will be introduced in South-Western and Southern Railways.
