Seven people, including police officers and a doctor, accused after the death of 25-year-old Ukrainian Dmitry Nikiforenko in a Wroclaw sobering-up center, were sentenced to prison terms ranging from 1.5 to 5 years.

According to the UP, the court found the defendants guilty of murder by negligence. The convicts must also pay the parents and fiancee of the deceased 50 thousand euros each.
Dmitry Nikiforenko’s father, after the verdict was announced, said that his son was killed and the defendants should be convicted of murder.
The tragedy occurred on July 30, 2021. After being detained by the police and extremely brutally beaten in a sobering station, 25-year-old Ukrainian citizen Dmitry Nikiforenko died.
The police claimed that the man behaved aggressively towards the police officer, and therefore law enforcement officers used gas and handcuffs on him.
According to Polish media, violence against the Ukrainian was used unjustifiably.
