In the EU, from today, June 6, the so-called autonomous trade measures began, where all import duties and quotas for Ukrainian exports to the European market were suspended for one another year. It is reported by the European Commission.
“The suspension of import duties and quotas on Ukrainian exports to the European Union has been extended for another year following the entry into force of the regulatory rules adopted by the Council of the EU on May 13. The EU reaffirmed its commitment to stand by Ukraine and support it as long as necessary The so-called Autonomous Trade Measures (ATM) are the basis of EU support for the Ukrainian economy by providing access to the EU market on the front of Russian aggression,” the statement said.
It was noted that the updated regulatory rules for the use of AZT take into account the concerns of European workers, and contain improved protection mechanisms and the possibility of immediate termination of autonomous measures in trade in the event of an emergency on the European market regarding a certain set of goods. This list includes eggs, poultry, sugar, oats, corn, cereal and honey.
The updated offline trading events will remain valid until June 5, 2025.

As you know, in May 2022, the Council of the EU for the first time decided to remove all duties and quotas on exports from Ukraine for one year to support the full-scale invasion of Russia. This regime was extended in 2023.
At the same time, due to the dissatisfaction of farmers, the EU introduced temporary restrictions for certain types of agricultural products for several months in 2023, and individual countries, especially Poland, they were extended unilaterally even after cancellation at the EU level.
