On June 4, the notorious deputy of the Polish Sejm, Grzegorz Braun, removed the flag of Ukraine, which had been hanging there since the beginning of a full-scale war, from the flagpole on Kosciuszko Mound in Krakow. Later, a politician from the right-wing populist Confederation party said that the flag, “hanging in the wrong place,” was handed over to the consulate.

A few hours later the flag was returned to the mound, and this morning the head of the Kościuszko Mound Committee, Professor Piotr Dobosz, the voivode of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship Krzysztof Jan Klenczar and the Ukrainian consul in Krakow Wyacheslav Wojnarowski solemnly raised the flag, reports “New Poland”.
The police are already looking into the matter.
In connection with the theft of the Ukrainian flag and damage to the flagpole and one of the cameras at the scene of the incident, Krakow police officers conducted an investigation and are collecting evidence in this case, the police noted.
In addition to the police, the Krakow voivode also addressed the parliamentary ethics commission because, in his words, “a Polish parliamentarian should not behave in such an undignified and shameful manner.”
He added that the national flag is a symbol, it was raised in accordance with the law and in accordance with the will and intention of the owner of the place and cannot be targeted.
