In Kherson, the occupiers confiscated the regional universal science library named Gonchar. This was announced by the first deputy head of the Kherson Regional Council Yuri Sobolevsky.

As Sobolevsky noted, the director of the library, Nadezhda Korotun, and a significant part of the staff certainly refused to cooperate with the occupiers and associates, after which a threat to the life and health of the director appeared. Currently, it is located in the territory controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
From the beginning of the conquest of the region by Russian troops, the library has been working with readers only in an online format.
It will be recalled that on June 14, a Russian ammunition depot was destroyed in the temporarily occupied Nova Kakhovka, Kherson region. In this case, the explosion of the shells took some time.
