Light consumption has increased in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, Donetsk, Zhytomyr, Nikolaev, Kirovograd and Khmelnitsky regions. When consumption significantly exceeded the limits, Ukrenergo was forced to apply emergency shutdowns from 14:25, and from 14:50 – special emergency shutdown schedules for household and industrial consumers in these regions. Ukrenergo reported this on Facebook.
Energy workers stressed that power outages at critical infrastructure facilities are possible.
These types of restrictions will remain in effect until consumption levels in the regions return to within the limits. Then regional power companies will be able to return to the planned restrictions schedules,” the company explained.
Ukrenergo recalled that forced power outages are the result of six combined targeted attacks by Russia on the Ukrainian energy system. There is very little light to cover the needs of all consumers.
Let us remind you that Ukrenergo stated that on June 4 there was slightly more in the Ukrainian energy system than it was yesterday. Consumers are using air conditioners more frequently, European electricity imports are down, and cloud cover is hampering the operation of solar power plants.
