The German agency received information that Saudi Arabia does not plan to participate in the peace summit from sources in diplomatic circles in Riyadh.
The reason for this decision by Saudi Arabia is that Russia will not be able to participate in the peace summit in Switzerland.
There has been no official confirmation of Saudi Arabia’s decision yet.
Let’s remember that Ukraine, together with Switzerland, organized the Global Peace Summit, which will be held in the Swiss resort of Bürgenstock on June 15-16. Leaders from dozens of countries from around the world are expected to attend the summit. However, Russia was not invited to the summit, which should be the founding one, because its presence could hinder the search for solutions.
Russia, as Ukrainian authorities have said, is planning to invite to the second peace summit if they express a real desire to end the war as part of the peace plan that will be developed after the first peace summit.
