Russians are losing land in the city of Kharkov region and in response are turning it into ruins, emphasized analyst Julian Repke.
The Ukrainian military counterattacked in Volchansk, Kharkov region, and recaptured several neighborhoods. This was reported on June 2 by the Bild Telegram channel with reference to military analyst Julian Repke.
In mid-May, Russian troops occupied the northern part of Volchansk in the Kharkov region and several central neighborhoods. However, in recent days, the Ukrainian Armed Forces managed to partially drive the Russians out of the center.
“In response to this, the Russian army mercilessly destroys the city, turning it into ruins,” the message said.
According to Repke, west of Volchansk the Russians took almost half of the village of Staritsa in other directions their advance was slower.
“Already, only about a quarter of the city’s territory is under unambiguous Russian control. A week ago, it was about half. It seems that the Ukrainians succeeded in advancing there and ousting the Russians. The Russians is losing ground in Volchansk and increasingly destroying the city with the help of MLRS, heavy artillery and guided missiles,” the analyst said.
