The Poles promised to prepare a Ukrainian unit from Ukrainians in Poland subject to conscription in the Ukrainian army.
In Poland they are ready to train a military unit of mobilized Ukrainians who are now in Poland. This was announced by the head of the Polish Foreign Ministry, Radoslaw Sikorski, reports Wnp.pl.
“Poland is considering Ukraine’s request for training, but we have decided that it would be safer and more effective to train a Ukrainian unit of Ukrainians in Poland who are subject to conscription in the Ukrainian army, and this would be a more effective way to help Ukraine,” Sikorsky said.
The minister added that negotiations with Ukraine regarding a bilateral security agreement “are working well” and expressed hope that its signing will take place before the NATO summit in July in Washington.
Earlier it was reported that Poland is preparing the 45th aid package for Ukraine.
