Ukraine can use the HIMARS missile systems received from the United States to strike Russian soldiers and command posts, but with some restrictions.
The US presidential administration has authorized Ukraine to use American weapons to strike military targets on Russian territory, but only in Russian regions bordering the Kharkov region. The Press Secretary of the President of Ukraine, Sergei Nikiforov, confirmed this information to The Guardian.
It has been reported that Ukraine may use the HIMARS missile system received from the United States to attack Russian soldiers and command posts.
“This will significantly increase our ability to counter Russian attempts at mass infiltration across the border,” Nikiforov emphasized.
But the White House insists that the policy prohibiting strikes deep into the Russian Federation has not changed.
In addition, Ukraine still does not have permission to use the long-range ATACMS system for strikes on Russian territory.
It was previously reported that Canada allowed Ukraine to invade Russian territory using weapons received from Canada.
Sweden is also not opposed to Ukraine using its weapons to strike targets on Russian territory.
