At the University of Culture of Kiev, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Ukrainian Song of the Year national music award, they presented a documentary film and a book about the history of the development and development of the project. This was stated in a statement from the university.
“The national music award of the Ukrainian Song of the Year, the author of the idea, general producer, founder and philanthropist of which is Mikhail Poplavsky, celebrated its 20th anniversary, the Kiev University of Culture presented a documentary film 20 years of the National Music Project Ukrainian Song of the Year and the book Ukrainian Song year, which is a kind of excursion into the history of the formation and development of the legendary project,” said the message.
The authors remind you that the project was created in 2004 as Our Song, when Russian content dominated the information space in Ukraine.
“The creation of something Ukrainian is unfashionable, unprofitable, which led to a catastrophic situation, together with like-minded people, raised this problem in public and announced an ambitious mission – to preserve and develop Ukrainian music and song creativity, discover new talented artists and give them creative prospects for starting a career,” recalls the university.

The last time the award celebrated the winners was on February 16, 2022.
