Beijing reportedly rejected the invitation because the conditions for participation were not met, the media wrote.
China informed diplomats that unfulfilled conditions include recognition of the conference by both Russia and Ukraine, as well as equal participation of all parties and discussion of all proposals.
Earlier, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said China was responding to its calls for de-escalation in Ukraine to all parties involved, including Russia, but Moscow was ignoring such appeals.
