In Hungary, women are more likely to oppose aid to Ukraine from the European Union than men.
About 46% of Hungarian citizens believe that the European Union should not support Ukraine in any way. At the same time, 32% of Hungarians would support EU aid through financial, economic and humanitarian instruments. The Hungarian agency 24.hu reported this on Thursday, May 30.
According to a survey conducted by Závecz Research, only 16% of Hungarians would agree to send weapons and military equipment to Ukraine.
The study also showed that the majority of opponents of providing aid to Ukraine are among the young and middle-aged – 47 and 51%, respectively. At the same time, respondents aged 60 and older tend to still send some form of aid, with only 41% completely opposed to it.
In Hungary, women are more likely to speak against EU aid to Ukraine than men – 54% compared to 38%, as well as people without secondary education – 54%.
Earlier, Peter Szijjártó abandoned “peaceful efforts” to resolve the confrontation in Ukraine and said that Hungary will block the European Union’s aid to Ukraine in the amount of 2 billion euros.
