Former US President and 2024 presidential candidate Donald Trump has said he will bomb Moscow if the Russian Federation invades Ukraine during his presidency.

In one of the events, former US President Donald Trump said he would have bombed Moscow if the Russian Federation had attacked Ukraine during his stay in the Oval Office, The Washington Post wrote. Trump has repeatedly said that under his leadership Russia will not attack Ukraine and even now, having power, he can stop the war one day.

I bomb everyone and make peace

According to the publication, at one of his campaign events, Trump said he would bomb Moscow and Beijing if Russia attacked Ukraine or China attacked Taiwan. These words surprised some donors.

Trump has previously said that he knows both Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky, so he will be able to “solve the problem of the war in Ukraine very quickly.”

“I will invite him (Putin) to the room. I will put Zelensky in a room. Then I will bring them together. And we would have made a deal,” Trump commented on Putin’s words.

In an interview with NBC, Trump immediately said that if re-elected president, he would resolve the war within 24 hours, but did not provide any details of his plan.

“If I tell you exactly, I will lose all my trump cards. I mean you can’t say exactly what you’re going to do. But I will say a few things to Putin. I have something to say to Zelensky,” he said.

NBC said the reporter pressed Trump several times to clearly explain how he intended to end the war, but Trump continued to evade the explanation.

When asked if he would allow the Kremlin to hold Ukrainian territory illegally taken by Russian troops by force, he replied that he “entered into an agreement that is fair for everyone.”

American Hawk

Political expert Taras Zagorodny believes that there are many myths surrounding Trump in Ukraine. “If you remember his presidency, for example, he lifted the arms embargo on our country, which was imposed by the Obama-Biden cabinet. The first Javelins went in with him. And when there was a concentration of troops in Crimea in 2021, the Russians were conducting exercises, then the Trump administration sent two strategic bombers to Ukraine that flew south of Ukraine with the official words “containing Russia,” Zagorodny recalled.

At the very least, the political expert notes, Republicans are now increasing pressure on the administration of the current president and also on candidate Joe Biden: “There were recent hearings in Congress, where a representative of the Republican Party asked the United States Secretary of State Antony Blinking on what basis they banned strikes on Russian territory with American weapons, although Congress does not ban it. Therefore, such movements, I think, are the general condition of the Republican Party. We often have legends about this party. And it is quite possible that Trump will take a tougher position if he wins the election.
