The construction of protective hangars in the Volgograd region of the Russian Federation, 300 km from the Ukrainian border, was recorded by satellites.
The Russians have begun building airfield hangars 300 km from the Ukrainian border, designed to protect aircraft from cluster-warhead missiles and drones. Militarny reported this with reference to satellite images published on the social network by Kh.
Satellite images indicate that hangar structures are being built at the Marinovka airport, located in Russia’s Volgograd region, 300 km from the Ukrainian border.
The photo shows 12 new hangars, which provide shelter for Su-24 bombers and Su-34 fighter-bombers.
It was noted that the hangars are designed to protect aircraft from attack drones, as well as from ATACMS ballistic missile submunitions. Also, such structures will not allow satellites to distinguish whether the hangar is empty or whether there is an aircraft parked there.
Let’s recall that on May 19, SBU drones attacked the Kushchevsk military airport in the Krasnodar region of the Russian Federation. During the strike, the Su-27 aircraft was destroyed, and the Su-34 and Su-30 were also damaged.
