Ukrainian fighters shot down 13 suicide bombers in the regions of Nikolaev, Kirovograd and Rivne during the night.
On the night of May 29, Ukrainian defenders shot down almost all enemy attack drones of the Shahed type, which were used by the Russian invaders for another aerial attack. The commander of the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Nikolai Oleshchuk, reported this on Telegram.
In total, that night the enemy launched 14 Shahed-131/136 kamikaze drones across Ukraine, and the launches were conducted from the Primorsko-Akhtarsk area of Russia.
The following are involved in repelling enemy air attacks:
-
fighter aircraft,
-
anti-aircraft missile unit of the Air Force,
-
mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces,
-
electronic warfare units
Enemy attack UAVs were eliminated within three regions.
“As a result of the battle against the aircraft, 13 suicide bombers were shot down in the regions of Nikolaev, Kirovograd and Rivne,” said Oleshchuk.
Let’s recall that for the first time, the Iranian authorities transferred to Russia the latest high-precision Qaem-5 aerial bomb for attacks on Ukraine.
In addition, Iranian officials deny media reports about the first delivery of Russian Su-35 fighter jets to the country.
