This was reported by AFP with reference to a commentary by the French Ministry of Defense.
The French department’s response to an AFP request stated that the issue was “being studied” but did not confirm the direction of the instructors.
Training on Ukrainian soil is one of the projects that was discussed after the conference in support of Ukraine, convened (by French President Emmanuel Macron – ed.) on February 26, the French Ministry of Defense noted in its response.
Like all projects that were discussed on this matter, this continues to be the subject of work with Ukrainians, in particular, to understand their exact needs, the department added.
Let us remind you that the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky said today, May 27, that the first French military instructors may soon arrive in Ukraine. According to Syrsky, he has already signed the relevant documents.
This statement by Syrsky followed a video conference he and Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustem Umerov held with French Defense Minister Sebastien Lecornu.
