French President Emmanuel Macron arrived in Germany on Sunday for a three-day state visit.
French President Emmanuel Macron warned the world against waning support for Ukraine in its defense against Russia and called for it to be increased. He announced this on Sunday, May 26, during his visit to Germany, writes Tagesschau.
So, in a meeting with German President Frank Steinmeier in Berlin, Macron said that in fact, when talking about peace, it should be understood that it is a country’s opportunity to defend its borders and the its sovereignty.
“Peace is not a rejection of principles. Peace means allowing a country to defend its borders and its sovereignty,” Macron said.
Steinmeier agreed that aid to Ukraine should not be stopped and stressed that by working together, Germany and France can overcome the geopolitical challenges facing Europe. We are talking, in particular, about Russia’s war against Ukraine and the war in Gaza.
Macron’s trip to Berlin, Dresden and Munster was the first state visit by a French president to Germany in 24 years.
Earlier, Emmanuel Macron named the condition for European security. He said Europeans are facing a Russia “with a power that has lost its restraint and no longer wants to tell us what its limits are.”
