A day of mourning has been declared in Kharkov for those killed as a result of Russian strikes on the Epicenter construction hypermarket, city mayor Igor Terekhov said. On May 27, state flags will be lowered in the city, and entertainment music will be prohibited in public places.

As of 20:30 on Sunday, May 26, a rescue and search operation and identification of bodies are ongoing at the site where two Russian UMPB D-30s were hit. At least 16 dead, 44 injured and seven missing are known.
