One of the NATO countries ordered artillery ammunition worth about 300 million euros from the German defense company Rheinmetall. This was reported by the company’s press service.
It is reported that several tens of thousands of artillery shells and several hundred thousand propellant charge modules have been ordered. Deliveries will be made between 2024 and 2028.
“Due to the need to replace the armed forces with ammunition as a result of the war in Ukraine, Rheinmetall has received large orders for the production of artillery ammunition,” the company said, adding that the new orders once again highlight the leading Rheinmetall’s technological position in European ammunition development and production.
It was previously known that Rheinmetall plans to build at least four factories in Ukraine where they will produce weapons.
