Migrant workers in Ukraine choose Western European countries to earn money, where they pay more than in neighboring countries.
Wages are rising in Poland, but employers there are finding it harder to find workers for seasonal work. This was stated in the press release of the EWL Migration Platform.
“For the second year in a row, Poland is experiencing a serious shortage of personnel during the summer. This is due to the fact that Ukrainians, who usually come to Poland for seasonal work, can now also earn two to three times more than in. Germany, the Netherlands or other Western European countries”, explains EWL Recruitment Director Maryana Semenyuk.
According to the EWL Migration Platform, you can now earn 5-9 thousand zlotys from seasonal work, which is 50-91 thousand UAH. We are talking about short-term work in the agricultural sector or in construction warehouses or logistics packing clothes.
“Due to the approaching sales season, the number of vacancies in the logistics sector is increasing significantly. said the message.
EWL added that the deficit in the transport industry is also large – there are between 150 and 300 thousand drivers missing.
As is known, before the full Russian invasion of Ukraine, between 1.5 and 2 million Ukrainians lived in Poland; 1.3 million Ukrainians left for Poland after February 24, 2022. However, today the number of refugees from Ukraine has decreased to 950 thousand.
The Polish Senate approved the continuation of aid to Ukrainian refugees
