Earlier on May 23, it became known that a military court in Moscow arrested for two months the head of the Main Directorate of Communications of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation – Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Vadim Shamarin. He is suspected of accepting bribes on a large scale.
Two days ago, the former commander of the 58th Army of the Russian Armed Forces, Ivan Popov, was arrested in Russia. He was accused of illegally selling 2 thousand tons of metal structures worth about 100 million rubles, intended for the construction of a defense line in a battle zone.
Earlier, the head of the personnel department of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, Yuri Kuznetsov, was detained for bribery. During the search, 100 million rubles were found on him.
And at the end of April, Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov was placed in a pre-trial detention center under the same article.
