Art experts have determined that 112 paintings from the seized collection of the former leader of the Opposition for Life Protection are of cultural and historical value.
Art experts analyzed 285 paintings from the private collection of former Ukrainian politician Viktor Medvedchuk. 112 of them have cultural and historical value, so they plan to transfer them for storage to the National Art Museum of Ukraine. This was reported by the press service of the Agency for Tracing and Asset Management.
Works without cultural or historical value will be sold through the electronic platform Prozorro.Sales. Funds from the sale will be reinvested in the budget of Ukraine.
Paintings that once belonged to Medvedchuk were arrested as part of the criminal proceedings. Later, by court decision, they were transferred for execution to ARMA.
On April 19, ARMA announced the start of sales of Medvedchuk’s paintings. At the same time, at the initiative of the National Agency, to preserve the cultural heritage of Ukraine, the participation of experts to conduct an analysis of art criticism was initiated in the analysis of paintings.
We remind you that Medvedchuk’s yacht Royal Romance previously received a certificate of the right to sail under the Ukrainian state flag.
ARMA also put up a Maybach and 20 Medvedchuk watches for sale.
