The Ukrainian military is now ready for all possible risks related to the F-16 mission, the Dutch Ministry of Defense said.
Ten Ukrainian military personnel have completed training to maintain the F-16 fighter jet. This was announced by the Dutch Ministry of Defense on Tuesday, May 21.
It is indicated that Ukrainians have learned to keep essential items for pilots such as helmets, oxygen systems and parachutes on board.
Training also includes assembling and testing a rescue kit. This allows the pilot to survive for several days after an emergency landing. Among other things, it contains food and medicine.
“The training prepares students for all possible risks associated with the F-16 mission. Ultimately, it will also provide better protection for Ukrainian pilots,” the statement said.
Earlier, the Netherlands announced the minimum number of F-16s for Ukraine. The aircraft is expected to be delivered this fall.
At the same time, Denmark plans to quickly transfer F-16 to Ukraine.
