The special investigation group created by the government into the circumstances of the attempt on Fico’s life does not rule out the possibility that the attacker did not act entirely on his own.
The Slovak government is not ruling out that the 71-year-old attacker of Prime Minister Robert Fico had accomplices, reports Dennik N.
Interior Minister Matus Shutai Eshtok said that the special investigation group created in the government in the circumstances of the attempted assassination of Fico does not eliminate the possibility that the attacker did not act entirely on his own.
This assumption is indicated, in particular, by the deletion of his Facebook account and messenger letter two hours after the assassination attempt, although the attacker was immediately detained.
“It (the account) was not deleted by him and, apparently, not by his wife,” said Shutay Eshtok.
At the same time, the minister rejected rumors that the attacker’s accomplices could be a man and a woman standing at the barrier where he fired.
Let’s remember that on May 15, 71-year-old Juraj Cintula shot Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico several times. The assassination attempt took place after the government retreated to the city of Gandlova.
Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kaliniak said on Sunday that Fico’s recovery from the assassination attempt would take at least several weeks.
