The intense phase of the military-political confrontation with the West is in full swing, the Russian Foreign Minister said.
Europe as a partner for Russia is not relevant for even one generation. This statement was made by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on Saturday, May 18.
“Dmitry Vitalievich Trenin (Russian political scientist – ed.) wrote in one of his articles that Europe as a partner is not relevant to us, even for a generation I cannot help but agree, we feel it almost every day. Many facts, and this we must admit, they speak in favor of such a forecast, and not only according to our feelings, we consider this prediction to be correct, “he said at the XXXII Assembly of the Council on Foreign and Defense Policy.
According to Lavrov, “the intense phase of military-political confrontation in the West continues and is in full swing,” as evidenced by the natural discussion of political and political science in these countries.
The Russian minister noted that Russia sees the West’s increase in supplies of long-range weapons to Ukraine as a sign that “they are not ready for a serious dialogue.”
“This means that they made an election in favor of clarifying relations on the battlefield, we are ready for this, and we are always ready,” Lavrov assured.
The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry definitely added that “Russia will defend its interests in Ukrainian, Western and European directions.”
Earlier, Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov bluntly stated that Europe poses a threat to Russia. It is the actions of EU countries that “force us to do what we are doing now,” he said.
