On the morning of May 19, he defeated Mexican Emmanuel Navarrete in a 1-round fight and received the WBO belt. From the very beginning of the fight, the Ukrainian confronted the current champion on equal terms. In the sixth round, Berinchyk missed an uppercut from his opponent, but already in the eighth round he responded with dignity and forced his opponent to move to the ropes.

The confrontation between the boxers ended after the gong in the 12th round. The judges declared Berinchyk the winner by split decision: 115-113, 112-116 and 116-112.

Let us remind you that on the night of May 19, Ukrainian Alexander Usik became the absolute world super heavyweight boxing champion because he defeated the British Tyson Fury in a difficult fight. Now Usyk owns all the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO and WBC belts.
