This was reported to Dumsky by the head of the center for strategic communications of the Defense Forces in the south of the country, captain of the third rank Dmitry Pletenchuk.
According to him, the Russians attacked for the second day in a row. On Friday, for example, they made 15 assault attempts – all were in vain. Usually there are much fewer attacks, four to five per day, says Pletenchuk.
They shifted the vector of their efforts; before that they focused on Staromayorskoe (on the border of Donetsk and Zaporozhye regions, the officer noted.
However, he added, for now the enemy is overthrowing forces within one group. No signs of new formation were recorded.
And the main thing is that there is no loss of position, regardless of the pressure that the invaders created in the Orekhovsk direction before, and now in the Kherson direction, says the captain of the third rank.
The press officer also explained the need to maintain the bridgehead in Krynki.
According to him, its presence allows the Ukrainian Defense Forces to maintain the initiative in this direction and upsets many of the enemy’s plans.
If, for example, the Russian occupiers now had complete control over the left bank, the situation on the Right Bank would be even more difficult than it is now. And now, as you know, it is quite complicated, because they are constantly shelling villages along the right bank. Kherson is not always air strikes, it’s quite a lot of shelling from cannon artillery, tanks, and mortars,” noted the head of the center for strategic communications.
